Hello everyone - hope this is right board for posting this item. It's a large vase with a bronze finish (may be all bronze?). It stands about 10 7/8" tall with a 3 3/4" opening. The bottom has me confused - It almost looks like a wax plug. There are also two indentations that look like they might have held small pegs. Any help with explaining/identifying this vase would be much appreciated. Thank you.
    Don

I don't know about the plug, but it looks Japanese, Meiji era, late 19th century. It's very nice!

Maybe it was a lamp at one time.

Thanks, everyone! I agree that it may have been a lamp at one time. It would explain the plug holes and the wax piece. It could be the I had no idea it was that old though!
