First off if this is in the wrong category i apologize in advance ....if your here I'm hoping your knowledgeable about these dolls I've come across this one and can't find any if on it at all. I've already listed it but kinda feel maybe I've jumped the gun on it since I have no info at all? Any help would be appreciated all I know so far is It's Madame Alexander 1962 only because it's marked and still in the box.

The page I linked says "black Janie" and I assume they mean a black version of the Janie doll with a different name.

A little over halfway down in this link there is a list regarding the Janie doll and on the righthand side includes a photo with three dolls, including a white Janie doll #1156, wearing a white dress. The doll looks similar to yours, except for the colors. Since Madame Alexander also used the same heads for dolls with different names, it's possible that is why the year is somewhat different. It seems that the Katie would be the black version, and the Janie the white version. http://www.collectorbooks.com/pdf/items/7634.pdf

You probably guessed I did find your listing on eBay and that is how I found the #1156 that is on the box in your photo. I think you are right that this is a pretty rare one. I don't really know the value, though, except what is on the page I linked.

The doll should be marked on the back of the neck
