French Indochina Bangle

I have this family piece that I'm trying to determine if it's sterling silver. The only stamp I can find says French Indochina. Is it possible to be sterling without any sterling stamp? It tested positive for sterling with my liquid kit. It's about 2" tall, 2 1/4" wide and weighs 71 grams. Thank you for any information!

 

My guess would be whoever made it took the time to put french indochina, why not put the purity of the metal? I doubt its sterling? Looks brass to me, may be just the pic? Anyway best to do a test. Even on items marked sterling,925,etc. need testing since anyone can use a silver stamp on metal

 

It's very common for older Asian items not to be stamped with any kind of silver fineness. I suspect this is low grade silver. This is earlier than the 40s with that stamp.

 

I find I get good photos of silver when I take them against denim or blue.

 

from just the little bit of looking I've done I do think they did work in silver.

I guess some ARE sterling

 

There may be a very tiny hallmark stamped elsewhere on the piece (on the face or inside). Sometimes they're really hard to see or are worn, or may appear at first to be part of the design.
