Thank you, Jivvy! I know the boundary lines of the boroughs also changed a lot in early NY.

Father Salvatore, who was born in Italy, was a house painter.

That’s all such good information, thank you both! :) It’s nice to know, something about this unknown for so many years piece.

Oddly, I have not yet found an obit -- I have a number of sources and don't usually have this problem... but not done, yet. ;)

This family came up for me from the beginning (two sons with "J" names) and I thought, "no way" ... because an earlier artist I found? I initially found him because he was a house painter. :p

Of course, nothing is helped by the fact that it appears Salvatore and Apollonia named one son "Joseph James" and the other son "James No Middle Name"...

    Parents, sheesh. :hilarious:

(edit: But there is also a James J and wouldn't you just guess that Salvatore and Apollonia named him James Joseph <-- that's a joke, which may turn out to be true)

Thank you for all your research on this, @Jivvy! :)
I don’t really know what else I could expect to learn about it. :)

Well, now it's less about you and more about not being able to find an obit as a source of personal irritation. :hilarious:

Not everyone gets an obit with paragraphs, but it is unusual not to find anything.

Brick wall. Time to stop. Sorry I couldn't find more -- there's certainly more to be found, but not easily!

    Hi,
Family first names are a CHORE!!!! My grandfather was always Frederick John and his brother was John John So my uncle when he was born was named Frederick after his father. When my grandfather applied for Social Security he found out his name was John Frederick. We then found out it was common to name all the boys John. It got worse since the next generation all named their boys George. My father was George my uncle was George, my two aunts both married Georges. Of my cousins three were named George. It became a mess with everyone named George. Thank Goodness of all the Georges none of us named any of their sons George. My SIL named her first son Peter James which was her husbands name but she did not want a Junior. To this day her husbands mail gets confused with her sons mail and they are always opening each others mail and getting mad when it isn't his.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Oh I have stopped! Fighting brick walls of a certain depth are reserved for miscreant cousins. ;)
