No clue but I bought them for my Uncle in the late 60s as a pre-teen cause he loved them...with my meager pennies scared up from bottle returns, etc. at that. :)

Look for models in odd colors like blue (Wedgwood), shaded blue (Copenhagen), and Metalics silver and gold. These are all special "Club" finishes and bring BIG BIG bucks. Also Woodtone finish pieces are desirable. Early Breyers have a gloss finish. That usually means money. Beyond that it gets a bit esoteric.

As a dealer these are the rule of thumb tips I've kept under my hat concerning Breyers.

There are some very thorough books on the subject too.

If you have just one and want to pin down EXACTLY which one it is...forget it. They used the same molds with different color ways for years and years, each minor variation in finish garnering a new number in the catalog. Finding just one or two without any Breyer background could drive you nuts. Believe me..I know. If you scored a collection or some such, or are just interested in Breyers I would recommend an investment in one of those books I mentioned.

Breyer collectors do qualify for the moniker "Fanatical."

OK I made a mistake. Those odd colors aren't "club" issues. They were "Decorator" colors released in the early sixties that never became popular thus on the market for a very short while. Some of these odd colored pieces can easily sell for $3000+.

Special "Breyer Convention" issues are also dearly sought.

There are also a couple of highly respected artists that do custom finishes on Breyers.
