Makes you wonder what the church stuff belongs/belonged to. Did she take them home "to clean them" and then never bring them back? They probably wouldn't want to even hear about the paper.

I think you scored on the spoon. But ... Botsford as a given name? And we thought Cadence was bad.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I don't think it's been proven that it's the same person! It appears that Botsford on the spoon is somebody's first name. Of course it might not be, but that is how it appears.

Perhaps young Mr. Botsford's surname was 'used' as a nickname?

@Johnnycbo9 - are you anywhere near Connecticut where the grave-site is?

Inscription on the spoon says "Botsford to Augusta." Lots of ways to guess on that. :) I don't mind theories, of course.

Generally I don't make many comments in the Finds thread. I just admire the finds! My genealogical research training carried me away for a few minutes.

It might have been a wedding gift to the lady whose grave someone found. Lots of guys still get called by their last names if they hate the first one for some reason. Some just used it because it was a custom of the day. Augusta wasn't a rare first name, I had a slew of great and great-great (or whatever) aunt Gussies, but the combination is suggestive.

Still doing the extreme hoarders home clearance, found more gold, silver and cash.

There was a China cabinet in the corner of the living room, when I went to move it , I found it cemented to the carpet with piles of dry cat crap
The glass was broken and I did not want it, I put it outside for the skip and it disappeared within 10 minutes:D

Toys from the 30's, 40's, 50's. not sorted or photographed yet.

Just a sample of the stuff I'm still finding, this was this mornings finds.
