That case looks gold filled to me, is that what gold double means?

I believe gold doublé means extra heavy plate, but the person who knows for sure is @kyratango

    kyratango Bug jewellery addiction!

Yes, doublé is same as rolled gold, way better than plated which is in French "plaqué or".

Maybe the 60's,is she considered a ponytail girl?

No, I think of her as headband girl. But she & Ponytail Girl are quite possibly the most widely reproduced cameos of our time.

It's the wee hours in the US. Let's see if we can get a few more opinions when more of the regulars have had a chance to look. I'm going to bed. 'Night. :)

I wonder which cloud they plucked that description from?

Have mercy... My initial thought was she could be straight out of the Sarah Coventry "Lord and Lady" line (1960s), but I'm pretty familiar with that line and honestly, I don't know that she's even up to Sarah Cov's "quality" standards.

She could be from that 1980s vintage line (not Sarah Cov) whose name I can't recall... wait wait... 1928 (possible name of vintage line, not the year)?

Yes, it was 1928 jewelry I was thinking of, but a quick Google suggests they were all about ponytail girl.:p

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I'll guess something different, just for fun. 1990s? I don't think she's from the 1928 Jewelry line. They had or have a distinctive pattern stamped into the metal on the back.

I can't read the mark on the back but if it actually says "Made in Germany" wouldn't it have to be from after the reunification?

I just went down Sarah Cov memory lane and phew, they did some pretty terrible things to so-called cameos. :hilarious:

DING! DING! DING! I'm assuming what the seller was showing in that blurry photo of the back is the 'Made in Germany' mark, 'cause it sure ain't a mark for 18K. So, has to be before WWII or after reunification, yes? But this design was originally made in West Germany. Anytime you see her, you know the piece is post-WWII. Only a fraction are used in jewellery made in Germany, but if a piece says simply 'Made in Germany' it is 1990 or later.
