    Hello,
    Wondering if anyone can shed light on this box. I don’t think it is an antique but do believe it is vintage. That’s about all I have. Wood this be considered marquetry?

    It's parquetry, strictly speaking, rather than marquetry, as it's geometric.

    I am getting the vibe that this is a nice box made by a talented hobbyist wood carver, but I could be all wet. :D

    I agree newish,but lovely quality. id have bought it,but I love a box .

    Nice box! Looks like black walnut with a birch plywood bottom. I use to make similar without the inlay. It isn't real old, but very nice none the less.

    The inside of the lid reminds me of an expressionist forest! Must just be some sort of finish? Now it is impossible to un-see that.
