Is this necklace made from trade beads?

Not sure about this one. It's glass and looks like it's knotted silk between each bead. Should they be called trade beads? And does the barrel clasp help date it?

You might have better luck researching millefiori beads. They look like Italian glass to me. I could be wrong.

Venetian Murano millefiori glass, to be exact. Those look like nice ones.

Yes, I agree... not trade beads, but Venetian glass millefiori. I would guess mid-century, but they might be newer than that.

Many African trade beads were millefiori beads made in Venice, but not all Venetian glass beads ended up being used for trade. Plus these beads are newer than trade beads.

Very pretty :) Could make a lot of drop earrings out of them ;)

Agreed, Venetian millefiori. Good ones, too.

I'd have jumped on them too. Then again I'll even buy the Chinese version at the right price.
