Hey guys this was in a box of stuff I purchased and have no idea what it is. It has a light green tint to it when held up to light. It is 2 1/2 inch across. Don't laugh could it be jade? It is cold to touch. Looks like so kind of carving. Any ideas? THANKS
I like it though I've no clue except it looks somewhat familiar in design... I know I have something like this in cast iron.
Could it be a pi disc? I can't vouch for this site but here it is anyway. http://www.bidisk.info/bidisk infoE.html
Chinese Archaic-style fluted jade Bi-dish is what it looks like to me (I could be wrong). You'll have to consult an expert in the field of Asia Art to verify its authenticity, age and value. Good luck with it whatever you decide to do.
A piece meant to be used for jewelry, like as a pendant? Or a ring to put around the base of a candle? Or a napkin ring? The pale green color could mean it's "su chow" jade, which isn't really jade.
