help with these 2 guy's

    Please could somebody help me with these 2 chaps, they have been in my mum and dads cabinet as long as i can remember,until they passed away and now i have them, these need a clean but i wouldnt do it, they are very light and hollow, looks like they are made of shell, look hand painted as well, they are carrying metal nets, im 20150505_211703.jpg 20150505_211719.jpg sure i seen some like this years ago on the antiques roadshow, ive googled them but dont seem to find anything like them anywhere, a value would be great.

    I don't remember them from Antiques Roadshow (I mostly see the U.S. version). They do like like an earlier plastic to me. I'm not sure how early.

    Japanese farmers with winnowing baskets. Looks like plastic imitations of ivory okimono.

    they do look old and mum and dad has had them for sometime, they look like shell i know it sounds strange but ive never heard of the celluloid before, nice to know a bit about them. Definatly not new though, there was a link for ebay posted last night but that looked like a new figure.

    They are not shell, but a type of lightweight plastic called celluloid. Your last picture shows a seam in the piece, right of the leg. Shells do not have seams.
