Just had a closer look at the heart pendant, didn’t see this at all at first, it’s laser marked TGGC on the bale for the The genuine gemstone company which I read was a reverse auction shopping channel. Didn’t know such things existed! It doesn’t exist now though. Likely the QVC bracelet was theirs too.

Get your vacuum cleaner out put a nylon stocking, tights, panty hose over the nozzle and see what gets stuck to the end. I used to do that with my hard contact lenses I dropped.

I think it always had pearls. Whether or not they were these pearls is another matter.

Went out today and found a head-scratcher. All I needed to see were wooden gears and I wanted it. For $2 I bought the puzzle home. I thought it was some sort of weaving shuttle and I was correct.

They got the Made in Finland right, but they missed the Artist's significance.

I think they are adorable. I had that maker's black and white mini plates years ago.

    Bet they were cute!

This is my haul from this weekend. I developed some kind of mild crud on Saturday night and took a Covid test on Sunday just to make sure. It wasn't that, but I went to church on line anyway. Then I went to an estate sale locally I hadn't planned on going to. Spent $10 They said there never had been any jewelry but did have a few bits of "junk" in a glass on the table they were using for sales.

Oops. One 14k and two sterling bangles later.... The spoon pin is silver too, and the cake server. The butterfly was also in the glass. I recognized it without seeing the siggie. Didn't need to. Lalique. The shirt was for giggles as was the wedding book. I didn't know the bangle was gold until I got home; usually those are gold-filled and I didn't even look.

Lalique butterfly. How astonishing. Hope your crud gets better.

Thanks. Other than my head being fairly closed up, not too unusual in past years, I'm OK other than the MS making me nutsy. And wobbly.

The piece of Lalique was definitely a doubletake - sitting in a drinking glass just waiting for me. I got there at 11:30 in the morning! Tha'heck????

Not strictly a "find" as this was given to me recently but I am so pleased with it I just wanted to show it off!
After some research I have discovered that it was made by Fischer & Mieg, Pirkenhammer between 1853-1873 (if I have understood the backstamp correctly). Interestingly (to me at least!) there is a piece of this in the V&A.
The cup has been repaired with two rivets on each side - they don't show inside but are very firmly attached - amazingly it still rings like a bell. I don't mind the damage as it adds to the charm for me. I just love the birds and beautiful detail. 20221128_151126.jpg 20221128_151256.jpg 20221128_151140.jpg 20221128_151216.jpg 20221128_151315.jpg 20221128_151429.jpg 20221128_151337.jpg

You got a staple repair!! To me that makes it even better. Someone did a nice job on that. Staples tell stories; someone else really loved that cup too.

I need to get photos uploaded, but I spent too much time on my feet this morning at at an estate sale. Someone else got a big silver ladle, but he's an old colleague so I can't really say I mind he got to it first. I ended up with 1914 Sheffield UK butter knives that they thought were plate, a bitty 14k chain they thought was sterling, and some readers. The readers were in the locked case with the gold-filled ones. Marked the same price. These aren't filled; they're hallmarked 14k white gold!!!! (when this dealer misses stuff, she misses stuff! The family wouldn't let her move on the Lladro prices, but she sold 14k glasses for $30. Go figure.)
