    Hello,

Received a ceramic / porcelain horse-drawn carriage figurine / centerpiece. It's mounted on a metal base / stand.

No markings of any kind.. :(

Was in family since 1950s / 60s or earlier.

Any ideas on what this is or other sources I can reach out to?

    Thanks,
    - Andrew.

I think it was new when it came into the family. My guess is German, but could be Japan. These were very popular, theres a zillion of them !

Hello and welcome to the board.
If you go back to your post, hit edit, then more options, Full Image. Your picture will enlarge so people with phones can see it.

The markings will be on the bottom of the porcelain, if there are any. With the stand mounted, you won't be able to see them and it is not worth it to take it off the stand. You won't be able to put the stand back on properly.

Agree with Johnny that origin is most likely German or Japanese.

Any indications this might have been a lamp?

Hello Andrew, and WELCOME to ANTIQUERS!!!!! Without seeing a hole for a rod for a lamp anywhere, it was probably meant for decoration.....in looking at your image, I don't see an obvious one anywhere......

P.S....MANY people DO use JUST their smart phones when viewing this site, so making the image FULL SIZE is IMPORTANT and we highly RECOMMEND IT to anyone who posts just 'thumbnails'!!! Thanks!!
