I've come across the most unusual shaped chair.
Has anyone seen one of these before?
I'm very intrigued and would love to know more about it.
Hopefully, someone can shed some light on it.
    Many thanks in advance.

I can't wait to hear the answers to this one! It looks like a lady's chair and a school desk all rolled into one! ;)

See, you fit your neck into the top of the back, and then the executioner will kindly remove your head.

Arts and Crafts era writing chair! Really cool piece. Not Charles Rennie Mackintosh but similar. FUN piece!

Any tag underneath on the upholstery? Pic of that for age? Missing one of the stretchers on the bottom. Left handed? 20th century, designed by someone who had at least seen an antique windsor writing desk chair:

I just don't think it's as old as the Arts & Crafts era - possible it's refinished & reupholstered it the 40s-50s tones. The construction looks more mid century. A quirky aesthetic that does catch the eye.

A lefthanded writing chair? Definitely "quirky."

Thanks everyone for your replies. I agree, definitely fun and quirky, but I won't be buying it, mainly because I haven't got the room for it. :-(
