Skeezix42- I also like bitters and poisons but the cures are definitely my favorites. My favorite bottle in my collection is my Wm Radams Microbe Killer. It has a great embossing of a man beating a skeleton with a club and states that it "Cures All Diseases" as well as being "Germ, Bacteria, or Fungus Destroyer". You know that was the good stuff!

Some of my bottles I have found in my arrowhead hunting days but most are opportunistic scores at flea markets when people don't realize they have much value. Recently found a full label unopened "Mulls Grape Tonic" that promises to "Act upon the Entire System" for $5.00.

Nice to meet a "bottle person"!

Bottles are my first love. They started my journey down this wonderful road of Antiques. We've seriously collected Historic flasks, figural bitters and early fruit jars among other things over the years, but I'm pretty well versed in the entire spectrum of bottle collecting.

Hi, I'm so very happy to be here, I found the board by word of mouth. I was a long-time lurker at the AB on Ebay, about 10 yrs. or so. Although I have rarely conversed with anyone I recognize about 90 percent of the folks here. I had a strong interest in old things from when I was a child, studying the black silk piano throw that my mother had and other things, I would haunt the old junk shops at that young age looking for anything old, my family weren't into antiques but I had a very keen interest, just something in me I guess. I have antique dolls, a large stash of antique fabrics and lace and silk ribbon, I have done repair work for folks, hand sewing with antique threads. I love to learn about ALL antique items, and have learned so much from all of you over the years ... Thank You so very much, I also love this board so Thank You for creating it. My name is Joy and I'm 71 yrs old and reside in British Columbia, Canada. :)

    Welcome Joy!

We're practically neighbors. I'm in Seattle.

Kentworld aka Wendy is on Victoria Island too. We've got good PMW representation here.

Thank you all for your kind welcomes, I knew I would like it here. I love BC, and Canada but was born and raised in England on the Kentish coast, so I love both equally. I am really interested in everyones "stuff" and soak up all the information that I can, I especially like the "Finds" thread. Great board I say !!! Joy.

My husband and I were making a list yesterday of places to visit when we finally (I hope) retire. We've traveled extensively in Europe, so now we want to see North America. We've each traveled some here, but not together. Vancouver is on the list!

Um, Bev, you HAVE to come to Victoria, if you get as far as Vancouver -- just a short, scenic, ferry ride away! We'll have tea -- heck I'll even get out some of my china collection and we'll actually USE it, LOL! (Oh and the invite is open to any boardies who care to come!)

Joy, I think I remember you now? You had that gorgeous tankard with the carved ivory top and all the darling German Christmas ornaments and snow babies? :)

Hi Shiloh, those items sound gorgeous but they weren't mine. I only posted a few times on the AB then got scared away by Anti-Q-M and of course the latest troll .. I just didn't want to post. I check the wanted thread on this board frequently to see if I have anything that someone might need, but don't feel that I have enough expertise to give my thoughts on peoples treasures, I usually say things like "that is lovely" or "great find" ... :) Joy.
