It came from France and just stated it was an antique silver bracelet.
It has a cabochon faceted garnet in the middle and it has some vermeil scroll details around the center.
The marks say 835 and something that looks like CB?

It whispered: 'Could be Austro Hungarian' in my ears, but then again, I have been fooled before.
Can someone help me id the marks and shine a light on its origins?
It really looks fabulous on my wrist so I m happy with it anyway.

It is a gorgeous 'Trachten' bracelet, a particularly nice example. Trachten is German for regional dress, which indicates their intended use, to be worn with regional dress.
If you google "Trachten Armband" you will see similar ones, although rarely as nice as yours.

Although inspired by historic jewellery, Renaissance and Baroque, these are usually not antique, so not Austro-Hungarian. Most date from 1930s-now, they are still being made, mostly in Austria, some in southern Germany and occasionally the Czech Republic. So it whispered the right part of the world.:)
The back on the central part of yours makes me think 1960s or later.

Are your sure the gold is vermeil, or is it a small gold detail that was cast separately and attached to the silver? I have a few Trachten pieces that have that, a separately made gold detail.

20th and 21st century Trachten jewellery tends to whisper, but don't believe them, just admire their beauty, and buy if the price is right.:playful:
Perfect present, and always good to treat yourself. When is your birthday?

I don’t think there is any such thing as a “cabochon faceted” stone. The stone is either a cabochon (which is rounded) or it is faceted, but it can’t be both :)

    Any Jewelry,
Thank you very much for your reply.
The middle part has just a gold wash sadly, not full gold.
The pattern on the bracelets back had me confused again, but I should have known it is sixties as soon as I saw it. :bored:
Oh my, I do like Austro Hungarian but Germany always leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
I must have been a war prisoner during a former life, although my own Grandfather was and he seemed to have forgiven.
The bracelet is a bit young for my taste but it will stay with me for a while.
Its a good excuse to look for some more beauties for my birthday:D

    Marie Forjan, you are right.
I wanted to look it up before I wrote it but it seemed like it could be real.
Would be a very nice invention, wouldn't it? :hilarious:

The guy who started WWII was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire.;):(

The Austrian and South German cultures are closely related, and it goes further south into northern Italy.
He was a wise man. There is good and bad in every nation, and there are things all nations could work at.

It was a cabochon before it was faceted.:D You were simply inspired by the process of cutting the stone.:pompous:

Any Jewelry, you are right and my mind knows that but its difficult to tell my heart.
I think it might be the language that causes my dislike. I have always had a preference for Romance languages. German almost sounds like cursing in my ears.:sorry:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Very pretty bracelet -- And even better that it's an early birthday present to yourself!
