I think you are confusing 'lobtailing' with 'breaching'.

When I first saw the shape, since it's repeated, I though of power pylons -- the big structures that stretch across the rural countryside, carrying electrical power I think. Like some of the ones pictured here: http://www.dezeen.com/2011/09/15/pylon-for-the-future-competition-shortlist-announced/

But I don't think that is what was intended.

 

I see an autumn landscape - a tree with red leaves and a shadow.
