Cool item, komokwa!

 

While I'm not a pottery guy.....I gravitated toward these.....
Under $10 for both....


The 1st is 5 1/2 inches tall.....the 2nd just under 5 inches.

If the siggys are known....even better.....otherwise they're both easy on the eye !!

 

It looks like studio pottery to me. No clue whodunnit, even if I could read who done it. Today I struck a little gold, literally. Also fountain pens, reverse carved crystal pendants, 3 pair of cuff links etc. That's what getting to the local Historical Society's tag sale at 7:30 when it starts at 8 will do sometimes.

That man's cuff link with the blue stone is very 1966. I bought a set with pink stones and one with red stones only in gold not silver. I love your green fountain pen.

Nuff - regarding the brooch in post #3560, can remember similar 'free-form' jewelry with bezel-set multi-color stones in the '80s-'90s, the silver w/gold was popular too. On my monitor, looks like, along with the pearl, yours has the typical blue topaz, garnet, amethyst and peridot (citrine was often used too), there are still silver pieces with similar stones coming out of Asia, and those '925' marks also look typical of fairly recent Asian silver jewelry...

Great finds, guys! I have to photograph what I found at a yard sale this weekend. You are correct, evelyn, the early bird gets the worm. For ONCE I got up early.

I swear I'm not BS'ing you all... The small lot below came from an upscale community yard sale being conducted yesterday here in our local area. Total cost: $11

Desktop globe hade-made with lapis and semi-precious stones, polished burlwood watch box, Irish Dresden figure w/original box, sterling silver Donadio cameo w/original box and a nice big & chunky vintage amber necklace with sterling (marked Silver) clasp.

 

I had them figured for 60s Mod; they're the classic wraparound cuff links. I probably won't be selling them; they'll be busy holding my cuffs closed. The pens aren't in the world's greatest shape, but they were three for $10.

@komokwa - the coral is definitely dyed. It's Chinese white coral dyed red. The turtle wants to be NA, but it's not marked.

 

WOW......it's amazing what some folks will give away for peanuts........who ?? would not want to keep any one of those tasty items.. i mean...who ???

Okay, the worms..... I purchased all of this stuff from two yard sales and a flea market. Total cost: $39. The Betsey Johnson, which I will show first, was two dollars each. I am keeping the leopard heart:


The octopus earrings have a few issues, but they are very rare. The amethyst pendant is by Accentuality. I actually love Betsey Johnson and have a few pieces.

Austrian set most expensive item coming in at $5:

 

Costume lot 1- this contains a Clarks & Coombs sterling genuine pearl ring, a Trifari coral setting faux pearl ring, glass bead set made to look like angelskin coral (clasp needs repair), amber colored glass beads, state of NJ set (I love this!) and old? new? crystal necklace

 

Costume lot 2- the upside down earrings are Whiting and Davis. The sapphire, ruby, and amethyst pendants testing as real (or lab created), but not sure of metal composition- all unmarked. 10 commandments in Hebrew. Gold filled anniversary charm at bottom.

 

Costume lot 3- White floral beads marked West Germany. Pearl grape pin Trifari. Earrings near top appear to be turquoise with some kind of green stone- marked made in Israel, could be goldwashed sterling. Jade heart Avon sterling.

 

Italian compact, love at first sight, has a small enamel chip:

Thanks, Gregg! This is just the costume..... I have another lot pic of costume to load, but my server froze. Now comes what was mixed into the costume, most I didn't notice until I was showing my sister what I found at her house.....

Gold lot- citrine ring is either 10k or 14k, I believe 14k. Charm with citrine screwed in and pronged in 14k. I thought it was costume. Cuff links I thought were Swank are florentine 14k. Old square engravable ring, 14k....Intial L charm with diamond 14k. I thought the coin pendant was costume until my sister picked it up.... we louped it, bale is 18K, coin a Swiss Helvitia? something like that.....dated 1935.
