Featured Garage sale find. Beautiful chair.

I bought this chair at a garage sale for $20.00. It is extremely heavy. There is a tag at the bottom that reads: Reg # NC1455HK Shen Zhen Shenlenghang, Ind Co Ltd Flat D 18/F 18 TAI Ho Rd Tauen Wan NT HK. ?????????? Can anyone read this or has anyone ever seen one like this before. It does have the ball & claw feet. I just thought it was extremely attractive and bought it. Does need to be cleaned.

 

It is a pretty chair. For $20. not a bad buy. However, it is not old.

 

ummm, sorry...but i see no claw there...only ball....

 

This is typical of the recent 'European' style furniture, made on the east Asian mainland, mainly China and Korea. The style is Western, but doesn't look convincingly Western. Like when we in the West try to make something in a Chinese or Korean style. It is usually good quality furniture, made for the east Asian middle class.

 

Still, for $20, how can you go wrong?

 

Yep, recent, but you'll be able to sit for decades for $20.00.
