Help Identifying Artist Signature - Mountain Painting

Hi guys - I'm new here so go easy on me...

I came across this piece at a local antique shop and the price was right so I bought it. I love the work but was wondering if anyone could help identify the artist.

We'll go easy on you Jay...but not on the painting.....

It's those damn blotches trying to be leaves...
& mountain with trees and a stream....
all together that points to ' factory ' painting, that you will never find the artist who made it...if indeed....someone by that that name even exists....

PS your local antique shop should know better....
& I would cast a wary eye towards anything else they have for sale !!

 

Yes, it is a ‘factory’ painting. The artist will work at speed often using a sponge technique to do leaves and foliage. You get to recognise them, I see lots of them here in the U.K. and I’ve bought a couple myself that weren’t too bad and I thought I could resell. I’ve still got them.

 

I concur. The text book example of a factory painting. Your local antique dealer should know better; I strongly advise you avoid dealing with him/her in the future.

The signature is spurious when it comes to a factory painting.
