New to board from Central Illinois

    kwqd New Member

    Long time collector of art, paintings, glass, wood carvings, cast iron, firearms, etc. Trying to slow collecting to prevent death due to avalanche of collectibles in my home. At the age where I should start letting things go, instead of getting more stuff. Unfortunately, I've only collected things that I really like so some extensive therapy may be needed.

    Thanks INH, I hadn’t heard of the Collyers. Sad but fascinating story and with 120 tons of stuff removed makes me think I’ve a long way to go.

    Welcome! Years ago, I read Marcia Davenport's book (My Brother's Keeper), which scared me so much that I am very (VERY) careful about what follows me home!

    Unless, of course, it's a book, or cobalt glass, or certain kinds of china, or...
