Featured Glass Fish

I found this glass fish at an estate sale today. I have been trying to research it, but am not happy with the results. So far I have Blenko, and Empoli. I don’t think it is blenko mostly because their fish seem to lay more horizontally. I wouldn’t know about Empoli. But, the guy who runs the sale said he did a google lens search on it and came up with a female artist. He couldn’t remember her name. Do you guys have any idea?

 

I'd say not Empoli made.

That upright one is very similar to mine. The eye and mouth are very alike. Thanks!

they are very similar, but now I'm wondering if the Glass Animals book has the wrong ID. Looking through Blenko catalogues, I didn't see any upright fish. Will be interesting to see if a positive id can be found.

 

@cfh not Blenko, just says Sheffield Venetian glass Hard to tell if the tail is the same as your No idea if Sheffield is a British importer or what.

That I think is definitely my fish! Just weighed my fish and it is 4lbs as well! Your search skills are incredible.

 

lol, no special skills, it was just a fluke that the ad showed up
wow, I would say the weight would confirm they are the same I'll have to make a note in my glass animals book.

Lord, that catalogue is a fibber. The apothecary jars and genie bottles which they're calling Venetian are all Empoli made. Some of the other stuff does look as though it might be made on Murano.

I've not come across Sheffield as an importer.
