Is it possible they were made for clothing or something else

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

    Possible !
Maybe attached to leather belts ,or gloves...... they're unusual for their size.
I wonder if they weren't razored off from a single weaving .
Notice the weft threads on the unfinished one...

@Komo, not 100% sure what the stones are, but believe semi-precious.....including a small seed(?) pearl and black-pearl(?). No gold, I believe the outer edge was plated gold.

@Sharona, thank you! That $50 "costume jewelry" lot is producing some good profit. That Hu miniature vase would've sold for $100 or so if it wasn't for the hairline crack. We'll be lucky to get $10 for it now......but still good profit considering we only paid $0.50 for it. The cat form night-light is a pretty neat piece. Only seen them before in museums or sold at high-end auction houses. Our piece I believe is 20th C., but these too fetch pretty good prices............wish his lil' ears weren't chipped. :( I see your jool finds are just rolling in...nice! Hope this season will be a great one for you, you deserve it.

@Don, thank you! I recall last year we picked-up 3 Jensen necklaces & pendants for $10 and they sold fast as well, hope we can find more of his work. That brooch does look a bit Star Trek-ish.

    Brad,

Your thoughts... age and origin of this flask?

Thought Chinese at first glance, but don't believe that's correct. Appears to have some age... 19th C.(?)

the style suggests a pilgrim flask....but not oriental.
is that a paper label on the top ?

Found this little gem at a local estate sale this morning.
Miniature hand carved, folk art, figural wood plane snuff box.
    Kinda rare.
That's a US quarter (Barber type) for size ref..
    $4.00.

(Sorry about the lousy (phone) photos.)

    Neat box! very cool
Thanks Nuff! Hopefully a good year not bad so far, I was disappointed with my finds, there were zillions of sales yesterday but nothing worth buying very few antqiues or vintage items, then lately when I get a day off it rains...:banghead:
    that kills sales
Neat bottle too, that label makes me think liquor but never seen a liquor bottle like that sure looks to have age, might start a separate thread..
I would have never guessed a night light would be worth anything, learn so much here

    Nuff,

Not sure about your bottle, though I like it a lot. I agree that it has some age so it could be late 19th or early 20th century. The simplicity and glaze leads me to lean toward the latter. It does look like something came in it with that seal/label on the top. My gut reaction says European in origin with that concave bottom.

I think the decanter is newer. 1960s. Of the period when Beam, Ezra Brooks, etc. put out all the figurals that were all the rage. A specialty decanter for some type of liquor more or less.

Like I say....a little knowledge is dangerous.....BUt ...thanks to this site I now know what an Aladin is....& this is now mine......
Not sure what to do with it though.....but it's nice to look at !! :):)

ps. at $50 it wasn't a great score....but I was so thrilled that I could identify it....I had no choice !! :hilarious:
( that it came with a wax stamp & metal ringed top ....clinched the deal ! )

Ya...there's a chip on one of the openings, which I attribute to the hard metal stamp being tossed in there.......but who's perfect !
