Antique Chair identification help?

Hi, happy to find this forum. I am very much a rookie when it comes to antique furniture and this forum but I have a great respect for such things and know they should be preserved when they have certain qualities.

I inherited a bunch of pieces and from what I know of the history, the only one that I really expect might fit the age and potential for delight among a collector of such is this chair which I was told the wheels are original. I can see no other markings.

Anyway, I wanted to make sure it got to the right place, even if just the thrift store. Any help in determining its age and relevance is appreciated.

Lovely victorian spoon back chair,not terribly rare or unusual. Id guess 1870s-1880s. Here in N. Fl you'd be lucky to get $125 for it.

 

Johnny's spot on, perhaps a bit optimistic if the chair were located in the U.S. midwest.

 

Handsome, nevertheless, and appears to be in quite good condition.

Thanks Johnny (and others), searching images and such for "Victorian spoon back chair -dollhouse" brought plenty of results back that gets me to that ballpark. Nice to know the age and what category beyond "the Old Chair with wheels" as I knew it growing up.

Also confirms that there are folks out there that find this piece "lovely" and "handsome". I will do my best to find someone out here in California that will give it an appreciative home along those lines. The least I can do.

Interesting additions. Thanks. It doesn't seem there is a maker mark on this chair. Is that the norm for such? If there were a mark, where might it be?
