I have that Lodge grill pan, but I don't have the panini lid - I use it often and love it!

Now that was a haul! I fantasize about piles like that! Today I hoped for unheralded silver and got ... $7 in costume. It was a community fundraiser tag sale in a working class town. There's a newish Catherine Popesco bracelet in the pile that ought to at least pay for the gas. DSCF1158.JPG

We are still selling the woman's estate that had a serious shopping problem. :jawdrop::jawdrop:

This woman loved her some Bombay Company!!:eek::eek:

We had blow out sale of all types of Bombay items this past Friday. I bought several more jewelry boxes of different shapes & sizes. I will have to post a couple of photos of them tomorrow.

I did get these photographed today because the box they were in ended up in my office instead of piled up in the garage with the other stuff. :p:p

Set of enameled & rhinestone Nativity Wisemen. I would love to see the rest of the set be unpacked for next Friday. They are between 13 3/8" & 12 7/8" tall. The 3 together weigh over 10 pounds.:eek::eek:

These are both Bombay Christmas ornaments. The wheels on the carriage work & for its size it is quite heavy. The bird is a whole other matter. She is blown glass & is dressed to go clubbin' for sure. ;):D:D

I am thinking this is an ostrich, but I am not sure.:confused::wacky::wacky::wacky:

Thanks, evelyb. I thought all saltwater pearls were akoyas.... I will have to research further. I started taking GIA gemology courses online, fascinating, but I just don't have the time while working....I would love to take their pearl courses.

The abacus bracelet is too cool!

Instead of the Philadelphia Flower Show this year, hubby and I went to a gem show at the Greater Expo Center near Valley Forge. I was a bit disappointed because it was newer fine jewelry, newer costume jewelry (think Indian/Asian sterling imports), people who designed and made their own jewelry, and tons of things for beaders. I did find one place selling estate/antique jewelry, but their prices are exorbitant, except for the piece hubby bought me.... hope to post it later. Then I visited some silver scrappers an hour away, and I did get some good deals. I think good deals are something that I can make a decent profit on- they may cost me more, but I can make double on them. I will show them, too, when I get to photograph. I think when I retire and start to bead my older pieces into something new it would be a great show to attend yearly.

The jeweler we bought the piece off of is recycling older pieces into newer pieces. I wish I had taken a picture of these earrings he made. He turns old filigree bar brooches into earrings by splitting them in half in the middle and setting gemstones at the bottom of them..... I really liked how beautiful they were. He also turns stickpin tops in to charms and adds them to bracelets.

The stuff really is very well made. I bought a small wood storage trunk that I was planning on selling, but it ain't going no where any more. :p:p:p :rolleyes:

I am going to go over tomorrow to check out the Tuesday walk around to make sure he hasn't put the rest of the Christmas stuff over into that auction. He has a bahbit of just wanting to sell the stuff whenever when he gets tired of dealing with the same stuff week after weeek. Frankly I am amazed he has hung in there this long because we have been selling this stuff for the past 10 weeks.:eek: If so I will have to lift my self imposed ban for the night because the stuff really does well.

Two jumbles, both on at the same time so I was about 40 minutes late for the second one but was still able to find the signed Frankie Dettori book and the Australian silver napkin ring along with the plated Falstaff basket. All for just 20 pence each.
The first sale got me more coral and bits and the fun item, the kids Flowerpot man trowel! Thank you so much for replying, and for the information about your father and his work. I still have this vase and love it, I think it is beautifully crafted. I never could find very much information online beyond a basic description of your father's metalworks. Again, thank you so much for replying.

Where on earth are you finding jumble sales!

Dettori is a lovely man. I went racing at Newbury last year and he was very obliging and friendly when my godson wanted a selfie with him. (Godson is 35, I hasten to add.)

There is a core of Jumblers that monitor the what’s on in Sales in the local paper. We check the Church sites, Gumtree Events, local radio websites, I don’t do Facebook but others check that. Village websites, supermarket noticeboards and refer back to last years calendar as often the sales are yearly, often the same month. There is even a couple from Lincolnshire who have jumbling holidays here.
Jumble People get rather grumpy if they have to go to a wedding on a Saturday.
