Featured Silver belt buckle

Silver belt buckle looking to get idea on worth or where i could look it up thank you for any help .

 

The crown and crescent silver marks are German, but I can't make out the other two. It's a very nice buckle!

 

Believe that mark belonged to Martin Mayer of Mainz - pretty thing...

That buckle is beautiful, Arc!

 

It is marked 800 which translates as 80% pure silver. In the same way sterling can be stamped 925 and most French silver is stamped 950.

 

completely right. but sadly of no great attraction these days - too old fashioned. the most sought after are by Patriz Huber and other artists that worked in the artist colony Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt.

I agree it is a Mainzer maker, but I don't see either the Martin Mayer star or their export mark. Maybe it is some kind of tool next to the Mainz wheel?
Strangely I see a horseshoe mark on the buckle surround, just below the crown and crescent mark, which I can only find as Hanau maker P. Oberländer.

Yes, that is the Martin Mayer star mark I know. But as I said, the mark on the buckle doesn't look like the Martin Mayer star mark to me. It looks like some kind of tool with a vertical handle, a horizontal cross piece, and two prongs on top.
