Its been one of my all time favorites to wear, although I must admit I often wear it the other side up front, because I love the way the ornate back looks!
Its silver with paste stones. No marks at all.
At first I thought the stones could be replacements, but I see no evidence of this.
    The cross seems untouched.

For a while I thought this could be French, but now my mind tells me it could well be Austro Hungarian, because of the convex back with much details.
What do you think of this one?

That is a typical 18th century fluted back. So I think you have an 18th century cross.:woot::happy: Probably much closer to home, Flemish or Dutch I think, possibly French. It bears some resemblance to a butterfly cross.

Austro-Hungarian Historic Revival jewellery has ornate backs with scrolls etc.

Any Jewelry, I know, those were my first thoughts too...but I saw some Austro Hungarian earrings with the same back and similar stones and that made me doubt...can I post a picture here that is just from the web? I cant seem to find them anymore though

    Yes, you can.
There is also Austro-Hungarian jewellery that followed the general fashion, btw. Historic Revival and Siebenbürger weren't the only styles.

Not recognizably AH, but could have been made there. The style is 18th century, and could be Revival but is not the usual AH Historic Revival style. The seller could be wrong about AH....

Austro-Hungarian Historic Revival jewellery was essentially a revival of Mannerist and Renaissance jewellery, with the occasional Baroque influence. It was not a revival of of 18th century jewellery.

Any Jewelry, you are right, I have found no other AH jewelry that looks like this, and sellers have been wrong before
A pitty of the steep price because those earrings would fit perfectly with my cross

Ok, I can re-edit my post to: everybody, take a look at my lovely 18th century cross! :cat:
There is not much similar jewelry to find online, so when I saw something but described as AH, I started to doubt...
I should have a small Any Jewelry on my shoulder who whispers knowledge in my ears :hilarious:
