Depends on whether or not you are a sheet metal guy of some 42 years... ;) Metal does what I tell it. :)
Also.... A sacrificial item could be put within before cutting.

    Hi Milt,
Just like that only this was back in the 40s/50s and all wood bigger and more detailed. I wonder if Mr Hindman sold his idea to Keystone. Has a Pennsylvania connection I guess.

This is the Schoenhut Exploding Dreadnaught and Submarines.
The subs fire wooden torpedoes that hit the red button and blow up the battleship, circa WW I.

Schoenhut was a prolific maker of toys in Philadelphia since 1872. Their Dolls are very desirable. The Schoenhut Circus animals, figures and such make a fascinating field to collect. Still in business, today they specialize in toy pianos.

    Hi Skeezix,
I guess the exploding ships were older than I thought. I wonder now if mine were made from plans. I thought Mr. Hindman was a genius. I wonder where my ships are now? When I was in college my Grandfather gave most of my stuff away.
When my son was born I went to get my trains and that's when I found a lot of my stuff was gone. My Gram's oak renaissance revivial rocker with mop and brass inlay was sold for 2 dollars. My Gramp was so proud he got that much for it. That is when I realized his mind was going.

Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

My Dad had a second hand store, so I never got new toys. I actually had the gray keystone boat, but not the other parts. I never knew what all the springs were for! Now I do. Thanks.
