I don't know any other term for it, other than the alternative 'braided'. We haven't heard from @Any Jewelry or @Hollyblue who I am sure will also have useful info.

Bronwen, just saw your tag. I am about to log out, but will be back later today. Apologies Holly, I didn't see your tag before.:shame:

Reasonably sure not. AJ will be more than reasonably sure.

Nice assortment of foil back cabochons, maybe a fire opal cabochon? Hard to tell from photos.

A wonderful, unusual bracelet, KSW. I love it.
The marks are Egyptian, as Bronwen said. I don't recognize the town mark, maybe a smaller town? The date could be 1992? The stamps are not always exactly the same as on the official list.
I wouldn't say Bedouin, but inh has the right (sub)continent influence wise. The shape is Middle Eastern, the clasp is European. Egypt has a strong Arab influence, even more so than the other North African countries.
Rope twist braiding (that's the term) is also often seen on Middle Eastern jewellery, also Bedouin, btw.
Czech glass is used a lot in the northern part of the Middle East, places like Syria, Kurdistan, Palestine/Israel. I love the way it is used here.

Below is a Middle Eastern bracelet, probably Yemeni. You can see it has the same straight-sided inside and rounded outside. Also the central band of cabochons, in this case small coral ones, with decorations in between:

Photo is a bit bluish, it was getting dark.:shame:

Thankyou,so do I. I found it in a basket of modern tat bracelets in a charity shop for pennies. About time someone loved it again!
