Featured Merrythought felt camel, could it really be from the 1930s? It looks brand new!

I found the little camel under a pile of stuffed animals in a local Value Village! I of course went back the following day to ensure I had not missed any others :hilarious: I had thought perhaps that the camel may have come from a line of circus animals or something, but like everyone else- can't find anything similar. I am unsure about the comment saying that Merrythought didn't use felt as I'm pretty sure they did (as lesser parts of their stuffed animal's design at least).

This is just an excerpt from the Karen Martin book but it confirms reason for the use of "hygenic."

So interesting! I may have to locate her book to see if I can glean anything else from it that I haven't managed to find out already.

Check your local library. If they don't have it in their collection, they may be part of a sharing program with other regional libraries and can request it for you.

I miss Eaton's very much. A great department store that was mismanaged by the grandsons of the founder, Timothy Eaton.
