Featured Merrythought felt camel, could it really be from the 1930s? It looks brand new!

I found the little camel under a pile of stuffed animals in a local Value Village! I of course went back the following day to ensure I had not missed any others I had thought perhaps that the camel may have come from a line of circus animals or something, but like everyone else- can't find anything similar. I am unsure about the comment saying that Merrythought didn't use felt as I'm pretty sure they did (as lesser parts of their stuffed animal's design at least).

So interesting! I may have to locate her book to see if I can glean anything else from it that I haven't managed to find out already.

I miss Eaton's very much. A great department store that was mismanaged by the grandsons of the founder, Timothy Eaton.

 

I miss the ... 's ..... but that's a whole nuther story !!
