I don't know a lot about jewelry, so any help is fabulous.
The smaller crown has a dangerous looking pin on the back with no safety guard. Is that normal?, it doesn't look like anything is missing. And how/where does one wear a double brooch?:bucktooth:
There are quite a few areas of missing plating and/or discoloration on the metal, and some green spots, and a few missing stones. Also it is unsigned. Is it just too bad of shape to worry about? Should it be put to pasture? Thanks for your time

Odd the two different hooks. I'm wondering if the one without a catch is a modified fishhook...
    I've got nothing otherwise. :)

    Hi Tye,
The main pin is fastened and then the other pin can be placed anywhere on your sweater you want. For some people replacing stones is no problem. I hate to say names of people here who do it in case I leave someone out. If you ask I am sure someone will help.

It's what's known as a "chatelaine" brooch - two pieces connected by a chain. The fish hook back was a common thing in the Victorian era. Not so much later. I think the term jersey brooch applies too, although again 90% of those are Victorian. Yours looks more 1950s than 1900s.

You all are so fabulous and full of great information. Thank you kingofthings, Greg, lauragarnet & evelyb.:)
I am now seeing many more crowns in this style and I appreciate that.
When the metal has discoloration & peeling plating, can that be fixed? Not by me, just wondering if that is something fixable.

Awe, this poor thing needs a rehab. The plate loss is not really fixable but it can be improved. I would replace the clear rhinestones and get rid of the greenies and polish it up.
She has some life left in her. Poor thing.

    Hi Calico!
Thank you, yes poor thing, LOL! I won't be doing any work to it, I wouldn't even know where to begin,:bucktooth: hee hee. I think I'll just list it and see what happens. Maybe someone will want to give it a new home.:cat::)
