Featured Big Champagne Bottle-not ChaCha Feet Lamp but interesting (at least to me )

Here's a piece I got for $2.50 yesterday-not too old,fascinating or valuable,but it made someone very close to me laugh.About a foot and a half tall and heavy. Same as from our wedding-dejatique !

I didn't know it was a 1902 motif either,that bottle always impresses at weddings.

Big time disco ! I remember in the early 80's we got invited to a party at a nice downtown restaurant (the host had rented the entire place),said host popped open 3-4 cases of Dom Perignon.The guy footing the bill was a 'friend of a friend' who i didn't know too well.I asked him what profession he was in,he replied 'I'm a hedge fund manager',i feigned interest ,and walking away thought-'what the hell's a hedge fund ?'.
In the coming financial crashes,we found out.

I remember that bottle. I think someone gave one to my dad in the 70's,
I am not a drinker at all, in fact the last time I had a sip of the bubbly was 2 decades ago when my brother got married.

 

Is it magnum size? Larger? Always wanted to see a jeroboam.

 

Gonna look great when you start using it for its intended purpose & it has all that wax dripping down.

I have a regular 750 ml , from the mid 70's..
the bottle was too nice to toss..

 

I think it holds four 750 ml bottles.I'm gonna stick a big candle in it next to the fruit packing crates where I keep my LP's and turntable.It'll be on the big used wood wire spool we use for a coffee table in front of the bean bag chairs with the macrame' doilies.We got the posters too,the black-light kama sutra ones....grooooovy.

 

Get out the Barry White LPs and party is ON!

 

u just described a cross between my university dorm room, and the house I shared with 3 other university bro's .................but we never had the candle !!
