Help to Identify 1958 Sketch

Hi all,

I bought this sketch today. It’s signed Rene.. I thought it was signed 1938 but it must be 1958 due to the scene..

I can’t make out the signature on the back, but I understand the sketch depicts characters from the TV show emergency ward 10 (1950’s show)?

Could this be work of Rene Bouche or (less likely based on the style) Rene Gruau?

It appears to be the 1938 work of someone's cousin Rene who was an amateur artist. And preserved with the autograph of a minor celebrity from the 1950s. Here are the signatures of the two Rene's you reference for comparison.

All of that tape isn't helping, either.

Still, it is interesting that these unrelated items were matched up in this way. Maybe somebody was thinking of displaying the signature in a frame and changed their mind. Well, whatever...

Looks like he was an actor in a British soap opera called Emergency Ward 10.

Perhaps Rene was an amateur artist and Alma was a big fan of Frederick so Rene made the picture for her.
