I'm sorry for posting so many threads today! :couchpotato:
Measures about 68.5" x 32.5". I have no idea where it's from, but I like the feminine colors. Any thoughts are very welcomed and appreciated.

    Hi,
I do not think it is a rug but either a table runner or a shawl. Where is 6rivits hiding lately? I am thinking South American also. It would look good draped over the back of a sofa. This will bump up again.

Wow Greg, I never thought of a table runner or shawl, thank you!
I'm just not sure about Mexican though. The fringe just seems a bit different from the ones I'm seeing?, but I don't know??

Bumping this from April of this year!:D
I'm getting ready for a yard sale next weekend, and just stumbled across this again, and wonder what I should do with it.
    Thanks for your time.:)

That diamond looks like the serapes from Saltillo, Mexico. The wool looks heavier than most Saltillo blankets I've handled and the white ground is unusual but the diamond is unmistakably Saltillo.

Anundverkaufen, thank you so very much! That is a great help, and I did a quick look at them, and I see what you mean. I still see a difference in the fringe, and yes it is pretty thick & heavy. Do you think I am safe to list it as a Saltillo Serape blanket?, Or should I try to do more investigating?
Thanks again for the wonderful help.:)

    Hi,
I thought serapes had a slit in the center for your head?

Good point Greg, I had to investigate that, Thank you for helping me learn.:)

"A rather simple form of attire, a sarape is curiously difficult to describe. In a way, it’s just a blanket, or a poncho with no hole in the center, although there’s generally a circular or diamond-shaped decorative motif where the head-hole would be. Its simplicity made the garment versatile. It could be worn over one’s head as a rain jacket, thrown over one’s shoulders as a cloak, draped around one’s neck as a shawl or scarf, or spread out as a blanket. When rolled behind a saddle, it provided a striking ornament. By the 1830s, as we know from costume prints by figures such as Carl Nebel, Mexican men wore sarapes in all these different ways. Women didn’t wear them. Eye-catching and decorative, sarapes let men to play the peacock."

    Hi Tyeldom,
Thanks for the clarification of a serape. I usually just see the ones with the hole.
