I think the necklace is 19th C. Asian in origin and my guess on the beads material are:

Red and yellow amber, 2 spotted Venetian skunk eye glass beads and a Burmese Pumtek striped bead at center. The cord looks pretty old, hand-knotted and woven and I believe the material is probably cotton(?). All beads appear to show a considerable amount of weathering/wear.

Can you all please help ID?

Below are the best close-up images I have for right now. Will try to take some better ones later on in the day.

    Thank you!

Hey Nuff :) I really like those red beads and the yellow one, can't help id but I'm thinking the string might be hemp? a fiber burn test would probably be easy to tell, just don't inhale....hehehehe

nuff you photos are great! I can't tell amber just by looking at it so I do the tests - floats in salt water & sinks in fresh water, static test and blacklight. I've only found 3 amber necklaces but I'm always looking. I love the colours on yours.

Nuff, you might consider posting these on the jewelry board on Ebay. (Not the new open group, but the original board.) There is a person on there who really knows beads. As far as I know, she is still active. I'm not sure if her knowledge includes very old beads, but might be worth a shot. Sometimes it takes a while on those boards, so be patient.
