I picked up a box of pictures and plans/blueprints from old Navy boats including plans/prints for the Aluminaut. Are the plans resellable without being arrested for being a spy or something?

If they're old enough no one's going to care. WWII era and earlier craft ought to be pretty safe. The Aluminaut is in a museum, so chances are they have those plans in the gift shop. :)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I second that... pictures are always welcome. I don't have a particular interest in Navy things, but this sounds interesting.

The Aluminaut sounds really interesting... I had not heard of it before. Built in the 1960s.

    Landing Craft, Utility - LCU
The LCU-1466 class, of which 142 were built, were 119 feet in LOA and 180 tons light displacement.
    The two LCUs pictured are>
    TYPE/HULL# / BUILDER / OWNER / NAME / FY /BUILT/ DISPOSITION
LCU 1490 Island Dockyard U.S. Navy No name 52 1953 To NCDoF
LCU 1491 Island Dockyard U.S. Navy No name 52 1953 YFU 95 1972, to Spain

The Navy shouldn't have needed coal anymore by the time the barge was built.

I love! the little car ferry "Prospect."

I'm getting a Hudson River feeling about these. The big bridge and shore line details in the pictures of "Fire Island" are definitely NOT in the area of the actual island. ;)

And btw, it's the Fire Island that is pulling the barge Southern Cross, I believe.
