Geez, I forgot my find - this nice Spottrup footstool from Denmark. I believe the leather is original, the stitching has come loose on one side but the wood part is nice and sturdy.

    Hi,
The only thing worse than dang ticks to me was leeches. I remember coming out of a small pond in NC when i was a kid and had 5 leeches hanging off my legs and back. Little known fact... Guys in Viet Nam wore pantyhose to keep the leeches off.

Don't know seen them but never had one on me sounds pretty creepy. Ticks can carry so many diseases, scary. I get a little anxiety about them from time to time. Especially if I have seen one and if I find one on me......:wacky:

    Thanks, Sharona!

I've been trying to ID the necklace's country of origin which I believe to be Asian(?). The striped center bead I originally thought might be a Tibetan Dzi bead is actually a Burmese Pumtek, and the other two I believe are spotted Venetian(?) glass. The cord is hand-knotted and woven and reeks (literally) with age. I wouldn't at all be surprised if this necklace is earlier than 19th C., but as you and many others here know, I suck at antique/vintage jewelry identification.

Thanks to a 7 year old post by DragonflyWink, we were able to ID the Japanese silver tray's maker as Asahi Shoten (thanks, Cheryl!).

    These were purchased for $4.

Chinese Yixing planter and I believe a novelty or salesman's sample miniature football(?) cleat...

The planter is great, 'Nuff --

The shoe might actually be for a doll also, if it has an opening where a doll foot could fit.

Cute little shoe! The "necklace" btw, is actually Buddhist prayer beads. Mala if memory serves. Antique cherry amber beads do VERY well, especially if you ship to Turkey. There's a special affinity in some Muslim countries for cherry amber and cherry amber bakelite. I'm not enough of an expert on Islam, especially folk Islam, to know the connection.

@Fig, thank you. I'm sooo stupid! It didn't even pop into my head that the shoe could possibly be an old doll shoe.

@Eve, thank you as well. At this point, I'm so confused on what type of material these beads are and what country of origin they could have came from. :banghead: To me, the red and yellow are amber and the black are glass. They show a considerable amount of weathering/wear as seen in the photos below. The knotted woven cord also looks pretty old to me. I so suck at identifying antique/vintage jewelry! :( Maybe I'll start a thread with better images in hopes others will help.

'Nuff, from reading your posts I would say that you are far from stupid. You seem very smart and have good research skills.

However, we all can miss things or haven't thought of all possibilities. My mother collects dolls and I've talked with her a lot about them. So my first thought was "doll shoe."

The shoe is a boot, a sports boot from Football (soccer) Rugby or that other funny US game.
They have studs or US version cleats.

"The red/orange piece is a floor vase by Scheurich #517-38, the fish/mermaid one I'm working on trying to figure out who made it."

I think the second vase is the same maker (Scheurich) as the first, but that is just a guess on my part.

    Nice pickins' y'all!

@Fig, thank you and thank you all.

My first thoughts when seeing that shoe was novelty piece of some type. I Googled miniature football cleat and a number of folks were selling similar miniature cleats as "salesman samples". If for a doll, I assume the doll must be male, quite tall and resembles a soccer or American football player?
