brewster picked up on a previous techknology in three dimensional viewing back in the first third of the 19th century. he also was famed at the 1851 great exhibition, by queen victoria liking his new viewer sso much, that he sold near on a million the next year. these items were the modern day tv and most homes had one. but, i have never seen one made of mother of pearl. probably french these viewers, as brewster could not get a british manufacturer to produce them in number. the viewer was a gift from an antique shop owner, after i took five months to help him clear and sell his shop contents. he had had the viewer 47 years, and he bought it at a london auction in the jigsaw state, but could never find a restorer to complete the works, where as my restorer completed the viewer. it goes to auction this year in london......
