I have a pair of these and I'm trying to figure out how old they are and some key search words. They are smallish lamps, boudoir I'd guess, and I want them to be 1930s but I'm not sure that's right and I'm not finding any like them.

They're a little over 14" as they stand without shades. They have three paw feet painted pink, coral colored cracked ice (unless there is a better word) with three barrels around the rod. The plugs aren't polarized but I don't know it they are original. One has two 4s on the base, the other has two 6s.

Style? Age? Thanks for any help!

I love this with the little feet! I wonder what the barrel things are for?

Boy I don't know. I think the feet are great too but they look different in style to me than the sort of architectural feel of the barrels and woven thing. Then there's the cracked ice....

By color, 30's, 40's; and Milady would have had teddibly coy shades. Methinks her daughter got into a paint pot one day, and did a number on the paws. As to the barrels...most odd. Stabilizers for the skinny rod?

    Hi,
I am really puzzled by the feet since they are iron. Methinks the feet are a marriage. The rest of the lamp is very late 50s early 60s. The pink marblized Formica is 50s. I think the bases for the rest of the lamp were black wood and either cracked or warped. Someone clever (?) replaced them with the iron bases and painted the feet to "match" the Formica.

What don't you think lions should have pink feet:D? I was actually wondering if the peachy color of the faux MOP/cracked ice/celluloid/formica part started out pinker and faded to peach. It sure looks like these belong together, at least from the way they fit together, not so much the form. I could try to take them apart and see what happens. I guess.

I wouldn't. It really looks original to me. Just a tad odd.

BTW, I meant the feet - not the color of the feet. :D

I think all original up to the socket, pink feet and all.
The...patina of the feet is perfect for an original painted surface.
Though they're kinda weird/anachronistic I believe orig, feet and all.
I gotta think between the wars though maybe just post WW II, 50s.
    Just speculation though.

I think original form as well but this would look so much better without those feet. I could go either way as to whether the pink paint is original.

A methanol soak will remove most of the pink latex paint

And then you can apply a more appropriate avocado

Mmmmm avocado !! I think you peeked, they came with some modern (1990s maybe?) avocado-ish shades that someone stuck on them so don't laugh so hard. I took them off straight away.
