My husband' mother threw out hundreds of baseball cards that he'd collected, some really valuable ones. He was in the Navy from 68-72 and came home to find his room emptied, his longboard surfboard and his car all gone. .

I agree with Brad. This is a turn of the century store display. A few years ago in my area would have brought 2-250.

I would take pictures, make a flyer and take to antique malls. See if anyone is interested. I'd start at $175 or best offer. A good jewelry display case. Good visibility.

My grandmother never tossed anything, but she threw out my late dad's baseball cards when he went into the Army in 1954. There was a Mickey Mantle rookie card in the box.(waaaaaaah!)

Every time I look at this, I can't help thinking of Grace Bros Dept store in Are You Being Served. heehee.

But really, I swear I have seen very like ones in photos of high-end stores.

It looks like a pretty standard store display. Some locally owned outfit would probably like to have it. Give the wood a coat of paint to cover up the scuffs and it's off and running.

I went in to take his place '73-'77. ;)

If you were in LA, I'd suggest schlepping round some of the prop houses.

Thanks everyone. I am in Austin we do have a couple of studios here now I may call them up. She has some manicure tables from the 50's that may be a good place to unload those too. Thanks again.
