I know this is Russian but is it Military or Video Game? I'm guessing it is a medal for shooting. It feels very light and a magnet does not stick to it. I couldn't find this exact pin or the exact lettering. I found something for CCCP on Youtube for gaming. I also found something about Russian Military so I'm confused.

My camera battery is still charging so these scanned photographs are the best I could do. My Scanner is awful. Thank you.

The letters are GTPEAb6A The first A is actually an upside V without the horizontal line.

You're right on being a shooting medal. The word is стрельба, Russian for shooting. It isn't for a video game. I suspect if was a shooting medal presented by the Ministry of Sport Shooting. Following is a link to a Ministry of Sport Shooting medal. Note the word стрельба in the top quadrant. Also note the figure in the bottom left quadrant is the same as on yours. The USSR was dissolved in 1985.

Thank you Susan. With your information, I was able to find something similar from the 1970's for marksmanship and for archery. The marksmanship is facing in the opposite direction. How did you type those Russian characters?

    Mill Cove,
There are several Russian keyboards online that will allow you to type Cyrillic characters into a window and then copy and paste into a search or a forum post. Here is one of the ones I use a lot:

Fig had the best suggestion. I found the word on that ebay listing with the listing description saying ... sport shooting. I went to Google translater typing in sport shooting and selected English to Russian translation. Up came that Cyrillic spelling:спортивная стрельба. I copied/pasted just the word into this message.

Yes, I forgot to mention that Google Translate also incorporates a Russian keyboard. I have not used it yet (it's fairly new). I usually use either the keyboard I linked above, or a different one that is bookmarked on my other computer.
