Any ideas?.:D Someone specific or just a pretty picture?. Reverse painted on glass on an elderly looking silver chain which may or may not be contemporary. 89472359-662F-4C25-84F5-8464BA47B9E2.jpeg EEEF8585-84A2-48EE-8819-4A3EA254A073.jpeg

He's got something vaguely Egyptian about him. Beyond that...dunno.

No idea here but interesting that evelyb felt an Egyptian vibe as my first vibe was Mesopotamian so I’m in the same part of the world, just further north and east. Interested enough to go do some searches but I’m sure one of you will nail it first.

Is it possible to get a clearer picture including the back?

The bottom photo is the back. I'm using an iPhone so limited as to how good the photos are but I may have to borrow my OHs camera!

I found an image of ENKI the Sumerian god of water. Not him but the images reinforce my feeling of that part of the ancient world.

My thought was the same as More's. The scales for Libra.

    Are those letters?

The lotus flowers at the top look Egyptian, but the flowers at the bottom look Mesopotamian. Possibly this is a mishmash from the 1920s?

It's arrived in a box containing chains hall marked for that era so possibly.
I'll have a good look to see if they are letters in the base. The light was poor last night.

There was an Egyptian weighing of the heart ceremony though I don't know that any images are quite like this.

I keep thinking it reminds me of the way images or illustrations were done for storybook characters. Kind of like the Pied Piper maybe back in the 20s.

Ok thank you for the better pictures. So no lettering, just part of the design.

Another thought. The King Tut exhibit toured the US in the late 70s. I remember going. Fantastic exhibit. There were a lot of souvenirs to be bought in the museum gift store. This could be a souvenir piece from that. The chain certainly looks like it could be of that era.

There is also a 7 year tour of King Tut across the globe right now. Celebrating the find of 100 years ago. The tour started a couple of years ago.

I went to the new Tut exhibit. Saw it in LA. Magical and loved it but I didn’t react with quite the same level of awe as I did in the 70s but that was probably the reaction of a relatively jaded senior compared to the reaction of a kid in their 20’s.
