I don't usually buy these types of things but for some reason this one caught my eye. It's just a saucer no cup but I found the decoration to be different. I did find one very similar on http://www.wikiwand.com/en/Satsuma_ware but I was hoping someone could come a long and know the maker thanks.

    Hi,
They must be devils of some sort since they have hairy bodies. I just think it is bizarre but I would have jumped on it in a nanosecond.

It was hard to say no It was a $1 at an estate sale. But now it's going to drive me nuts. I have always had pretty good luck figuring out the markings. But I have never seen one with this many characters. Gotheborg is usually how I figure then out. But no luck at all on this one.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be the 7 immortals.

the original dai nippon mark were used in meiji period 1868 - 1912,and for the printed version mark is used after world war 1 and world war 2 1920-1940s,and yours look like the original one of the meiji period.and my opinon it's not 7 immortals gods of japan, but it's daruma or japanese bodhidharma and why he's many in your plate, because usually the satsuma plate not only just a image pattern but it symbolic something, usually about religious thing,i dont know why but the japanese very like with this daruma,so they made in many satsuma decoration even its wooden doll!

Sorry, I cannot help with the makers name, I read "Satsuma" and "Great Japan", but do not recognize the name. I would not think that all the figures are Daruma, rather various Arhats / buddhist saints...
