Skeeziks, you asked me about a flea market on Rt. 9- I think you meant the old L'Earios place, closed down years ago..... I don't know of any others here. I think they still have a small one, Delaratos, on the weekends on Rt. 30.... haven't been there in years. I just don't find very much around here at yard sales anymore, but it should be a good season. I went to an antique mall in PA yesterday and there is a silver dealer who weighs your picks and prices them. I spent too much, but I did find a sweet Art Deco heavy sterling necklace they didn't want to part with. They kept saying "You don't want to spend that much, I'll put it back." And I said, "No, put it in my pile, I am taking it. I found one floating opal earring, and then the said "We just sold a pendant like this." Sigh.....

Oh so glad to hear that Marko, I got my fix for this year lol...next year I am gonna get them girls, their onto me....Love Mikimoto!
Hope everyone had a good Easter I know I did now watching the Ten Commandments, what a good movie, I have it but still like to watch it on Easter

Yeah Im excited about the ram but no one wants to buy it fairly. My other buyer is leary of the content although he knows my jeweler too (who tested it)...didn't pan out for me
But I went to the eclectic jewelry sale, shopped and watch the eclipse, doesn't get better...and I went back to the ram sale twice....
Interesting this time a fella was running it and ask me if I was a dealer, which Im not ashamed of...lol he said he worked for a local estate company I know of too. He said they gave him scrap and left overs? for work 14k gold I never found anything in their sales but this guy had some goodies. He didn't really seem to know a lot about the stuff though
I got of mix of this from both, but most of the goods from the ram seller
Havnt looked any of it up yet
Nice 1953 Hollycraft necklace, Art owl, pretty gold hoop earrings, I saw last time but they had new backs. I think the little ring is gold and 2 of the post earrings 2 have gold posts, little value
I have not looked with but afraid those are swastika's? / misc

Owned it is a costume jade bracelet, only found one real gold one over the years...never know
Nuff that is a nice vase, beautiful love the sketch, I looked too that was certainly different than his other work
leWiste you can post anything you "find"
    Unusual vase

The star probably says Shalom; they often do. If the last letter on the right is a Shin, that's what it is. If it's a Y looking thing, it's Israel. First pendant on the left is a Star of David, aka Mogen David if I'm remembering the spelling properly. The other two are a Mezuzah and a model of a Torah. The narrow one has a Shin on it as usual; it's the letter the Scripture quote on the scroll inside starts with. "Hear oh Israel, the Lord is our God; the Lord is One" give or take a translation difference. The other has Israel inside the star; it's meant to look like one of the elaborate covers. All three were probably made in Israel.

    Ahem....
The star in the circle & the Torah scrolls say Tsion ...or as you know it ..Zion .
The scrolls have an older look & may have come from Israel.....or eastern europe.
The single barrel or Mezuzah, I can't make out the letter..( it may be a Tsadeh.....same as the other 1st letter of the words. ) ...but it & the scrolls should have paper with hebrew writing inside. Leave it there.

The red ring is very attractive.

Good for you. When you get a decent chunk of gold like that, always check current prices before going into a place like that.

Congrats Sharona! hope it is the start of a great season (for all of us:)). I've been trying to catch up on this thread and I'm always amazed at the things everyone finds. It makes me get out to keep looking that's for sure!

Thank you! Well the season is just starting will probably be my best find for this year and well most years
Sure makes the bug worst, but the bug been biting all winter for us all. I did notice neighborhood sales adds on craigslist. I usually find bits of gold thru the summer so it's good extra mula. Yeah Bev I did check prices and there are different avenues including ebay, maybe little risk but I hate my find rained on, and my bottom line was about 2.00 scrappers around here are cheap skates, you can send it in yourself, although I never have. I took it to three places one said well the ram might be a hard sell? I sure my facial expression looked confused, I said I don't think huge chunks of gold are a hard sell any where these days....probably could have held out for a little more.....but
So let the hunts begin.....I love watching the spring and summer finds

Sharona, you received over twice the amount "without a receipt" WOW. I shared your April Fools Story at the Easter table. Like I told my kids I went to bed feeling so sorry for you, never thinking about April Fools, was I ever surprised the next morning. Thanks for the laughs.
