Some of the basements and attics I have sifted through would make anyone cringe, but I was happy to do it :D

Spidey doesn't bother me. Rat and mouse poop now...no thanks. Got no desire for hantavirus.

My BiL likes apple crumb and my sister was looking at a cranberry curd pie. I found a recipe that had some of both.

Christmas Fair today cost £5. Think I got them because they had plastic discs for the backs. The company is in Pakistan, works mainly in 21k gold but does also have 21k plated silver items so I don’t know which these are.

The stones look real. I see a 21k mark, but for a fiver it was worth the gamble.

The stones are real according to my cheapo tester, I’m unfamiliar with Asian jewellery markings though. Pretty and worth the risk for a fiver, that’s a couple of coffees in the cafe.

The Smith Sectric clock needs repair. Lady said they have had it for a good many years. Stands 73cm tall,30cm at the base and weighs over 11kg. Definitely one of my favourite things this year.

Boland-Excellent find. Are there any other manufacturers marks on the piece ? Can't find many (any ?) Smith's Sectric figural lighthouses-but I'm guessing Roaring & 2ManyBks can.
I wonder if this piece was custom made for some Admiralty Office,Shipping Line, even a Seafood Restaurant-it seems big for a wee house mantel and heavy-27 Lbs or so-just guessing.
PS-Does it move or rotate in any way ?

20221127_095731.jpg 20221127_095722.jpg You guys find the coolest stuff.

I was able to get to my flea market and an antique mall not far from there.

I will save the story for last.

This Little Miss Revlon doll in her original lingerie was $15.99. Her hair is in great condition. I will show you a pic after I fix her up a bit.

The freshwater pearls are knotted and have a sterling clasp, $1. The cross is rose goldtone and really sparkles, $5.

The GF Bell Telephone service charm was 25 cents.

Now the story....got to my flea market at 8:20 a.m. First table I stop at I see this pearl brooch
    20221127_093713.jpg
Lady proceeds to tell me the guy setting up next to her told her it's 14k and he wants to buy it "after he makes some money." I loupe it and find it's sterling. She wanted $40, but sold it to me for $30. I walk around for exercise, people were setting up really late. The guy was still setting up at 10:30, and he had bought some jewelry out. I asked to see a cameo necklace, he tells me it's sterling, it's 800 silver. I notice a lot of crazing, so I politely decline telling him it is lovely, but has a bit of crazing. He goes BALLISTIC on me, gets a huge magnifying glass out, says I am a liar, he's been doing this a long time, show me the crazing. I point it out, it was so bad it looked like cracks that you could see with a naked eye, tell him I've been at it for a long time, too. He starts screaming again "so don't buy it," which I already declined doing. He just yelled constantly as I walked away. His loss on the brooch he misidentified as 14k for the lady. Not only was it sterling, it was Mikimoto.

Well I am glad you are feeling better Marko and found some goodies.
As to that vendor who yelled at you... sorry that happened. I guess he was not in the holiday spirit.

It rolls off my back. He's mad at the world. Imagine misidentifying the brooch as 14k and then not knowing the Mikimoto hallmark. I think I've been at it a bit longer. :)

Dude needs to move from Jersey to Gilead.I'm an old white guy and these guys grate on me-some folks are just born pric**,or like some sweet baby pit-bull who was perversely trained to be a fighter.
My wife educated me on what it's like being a woman in this society.

Thanks. I have had this for a while and couldn’t find anything very similar online. So must be a ‘once off ‘ thing. Yes it is quite heavy.

I don’t know,I think it’s just some skilled handyman that fabricated it in his garage or workshop. Must have been a project that the person was really enthusiastic about and loved doing. The quality and detail is great. Doesn’t rotate at all.
