The amber one is an old restring if resting it is. The deco silver one is an oldie - it's too short to be new. Two of those three hair sticks look Navajo; NA ladies traditionally wore them.

    Pocket toothpick, I believe.

Edit: Pulled mine out to compare. It has a Shinto gate on the top, but those same bands on the shaft that suggest bamboo, & a clip of the same shape attached in the same way. Clip says 'SILVER' on it.

Thank you evelyb30, that never occurred to me. Unfortunately they are not marked so I can not say they are Navajo, I will say Navajo style :)

I think I picked up some virus from you all and need to join collectors anonymous for rehabilitation. I couldn't resist this for $7. IMG_1688.jpg

The examples on the web all call it cloisonné, but I really have no clue. it has a blue bottom signaling China.

The Japanese fan is from a set of cocktail picks, clips on the side of a glass...

The picks were all different no doubt, marking whose glass was whose.

20190211_094013.jpg Bought this last week at the thrift store. Stood and thought long and hard, it was $75.00, much more than I usually spend. But I think my daughter has it already sold to a local tavern for me for a decent profit! Antique dogsled! The rings on the fronts of the runners are secured with strips of animal sinew! I think the deck and maybe the handle have been replaced over years but it shows very nicely, I think!

    Hi Komokwa,
The first sled has no means of turning, just by the dogs. The one you pictured has the steering in the front. I have one similar to the photo you offered. It no longer goes out but is crowded with teddy bears at Christmas.

What, then, are the eyes on the fronts of the runners for? I believe they are for harnesses. The runners are not iron but wood and are pegged together.

You did good things. I believe when you do good things, the universe rewards you.... I donate a lot, too. I hate to throw anything out. When my uncle passed, I either gave away the items to family or donated them to charity. I washed all the clothing, bedding, and linens first and line dried them to get the stuffy house scent out. People were grateful. A lot of the things I find I give to my sister to sell at her flea market. It makes her happy and she makes money. Win-win.

Speaking of the universe, I have had my eye on a seriously expensive piece of jewelry.....it was too ridiculously expensive, and they have come down in price twice, so I am going to try to see if they will take half the price.... I will keep you posted. I am reconsidering retirement because all of my social security every year will have to be used to pay for medical insurance... not sure I want to do that. I will just play it by ear.
