Wood Bowl Antique??

It is a wood bowl with a million holes in it. Someone said it could be 'Pyrography' but does this look old or how could I tell. The carved leaves are amazing. It has a tiny hole on bottom, and the 3 round legs. Can you tell want kind of wood? It is 10 1/2inch across top. Thanks

    I agree - (probably) commercial pyrography - first part of the 20th century.
    Might have been intended for nuts.

    isn't pyrography the art of burning on a design ?
    this doesn't look burnt...

    Yeah you can't tell in the pics to good but it does look burnt and also has a burnt smell to it.
