Metal letter Opener

Hello,

I'm hoping to get some assistance with identifying this what I believe to be a letter opener. Any information/value about it would be highly appreciated. Thank you

 

It doesn't look very old to me. With the two-headed eagle, it's possible that it's Austrian or Russian. I'd guess it was made within the later half of the 20th century.

 

Thank you very much for the replay. It was found in England and it also looks to me that it has English emblem on it representing lion on the cover if you look close.

 

Think it's a little really faux damascene letter opener from Toledo, Spain. I can see the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Castile and León plus -- drum roll -- this is the city's coat of arms. Toledo has been full of souvenir shops filled with variations of this type of ware since mass tourism began in the 1960s. (This is later.)

Your idea of possible Austrian is not far off, there is a Habsburg link. In the 16th century the Habsburg kingdom split into two branches, one centred in Austria and the other in Spain.
