All the links are metal cufflinks. I never heard thee term either?

 

They are metal, but doesn't it mean cufflinks that are linked and move independently and the hard ones are one solid piece.

 

'Soft cuff links' were intended for 'soft cuffs' - those in Shiloh's links refer to either the shape (soft rectangle - with rounded corners), a material (soft enamel - painted or plastic rather than fired glass), the color (soft olive, green, red, blue, etc.), or the name of the design (soft music).
