I purchased this sketch at the thrift store today. It looks to be a sketch of some character. The matte measures about 8" x 10". I know this may be far fetched but I thought I would ask if anyone knows what character this is or know anything else about it? Thanks in advance for any replies.
It looks like it's raining and she looks depressed. Could be a quick preliminary sketch for something or part of a cartoon or . . I could go on. Pity no signature.
I do think this is worth more research, it has a very familiar look... just can't place it. Have you removed the mat to see if there is anything in the margins?
Little Orphan Annie, grown up, after discovering that tomorrow turned into today and wasn't all that much fun.
Possibly a character from a line of greeting cards? Or a one panel Sunday comic? This one is making me CRAZY because I remember it. I swear. Mostly. I dunno. Still curious about anything the mat covers. But really, no, not Cathy:
Hello again and thanks for all the replies. I was taken ill shortly after posting this thread with the flu bug and I'm finally feeling better. I was thinking that the image was made in the 70's since the collars are long and pointed. I also saw a calender on the desk with a pencil laying next to it. The figure looks disappointed like there are no entries made or to be made in the calender. So, with all this in mind, whom do I think this might be. Well, I think it could be of David Cassisdy, checking his calender for a band date but this is just my guess of course.
